| About | Solving the equation The project in Iquique, Chile, originally followed 2001 regulations, providing 92 families with 25 sqm units, one parking space per three units, and a €7,500 budget for land, infrastructure, and construction. By 2025, regulations increased the minimum unit size to 55 sqm, required one parking space per unit, and raised the budget to €20,000. The site spans 0.5 hectares. We addressed this with two blocks featuring a variation of different typologies and one main typology. The main units allow extensions: duplexes expand into the backyard, while triplexes utilize the roof. In the blocks, extensions vary, sometimes added to the sides in a Tetris-like pattern. |
