| About | Social Interaction and Democratic Space Horizon-Tall redefines urban living on Uljanik Island, blending public spaces with modern design. Its horizontal skyscraper structure creates a vibrant, multifunctional environment. Positioned at the island’s entrance, Horizon-Tall welcomes visitors with a spacious square. The repurposed bridge ramp is now a green park, integrating the island’s shipbuilding heritage while opening it to the community. Inspired by Uljanik’s cranes and warehouses, the design stacks familiar forms into three suspended volumes. Glass facades and open spaces maintain visual ties to the industrial landscape, shaping a striking skyline. Community and Functionality with Modular Design More than a building, Horizon-Tall is a hub for living, learning, and recreation. It retains a smaller shipbuilding facility for educational use, while sports halls, cultural spaces, and residential units address local needs. Upper levels house maisonettes with private terraces. Designed for community engagement, Horizon-Tall fosters interaction through public spaces, embracing diversity and plurality in urban planning—essential in Pula’s evolving landscape. |
