Born of German-Brazilian descent in Bergisch Gladbach, I have pursued my architectural career to a Master’s degree in Architecture and Urban Design at Politecnico di Milano, Italy. My undergraduate education in Berlin, Germany, and my Erasmus semester in Nantes, France, exposed me to diverse cultural and architectural visions.
During my experience working at Ingenhoven Associates during the break between my Master’s and Bachelor’s, I engaged in all scales of architecture, from conceptual competitions to large projects, including new buildings, conservation of heritage, and technical detailing. This experience raised multifaceted questions about the professional landscape of architecture, which I sought to explore further at Politecnico di Milano, where I attended masterclasses and workshops that impacted my architectural perspective.
Through examination of masterclasses at the Advanced School of Architecture, I explored concepts of reuse and recycling with Rotor and an artistic methodology through photography with Hélène Binet. My research at Politecnico di Milano and a workshop with Alejandro Aravena keep me interested in the powerful political forces that shape architectural practice and the tools employed to navigate them. Architecture and urban planning face mounting socio-political threats from climate change, immigration, and rapid urban growth.

I believe that in this dynamic environment, architects will need to collaborate with and leverage a multi-level set of stakeholders with diverse interests. Artificial intelligence has great potential to improve communication, minimise errors and effectively process large amounts of data. This, in turn, allows architects to return to human-centred design and the philosophical underpinnings of architecture.
